- Tabenkin, Yizhak
- (1887-1971)Palestine labour leader. He went from Belorussia to Palestine before World War I. He was a member of the collective settlement Kinneret. Later he joined the Guedud ha-Avodah and helped found kibbutz Ein Harod which became the nucleus of a federation of kibbutzim, Kibbutz Meuchad. He helped organize the Ahdut ha-Avodah party, and subsequently was a founder of Mapai. In 1944 he led the Ahdut ha-Avodah group that broke away from Mapai. He was also a founder of Histadrut and a member of the Knesset.
